In 2016 Anthony Mundine and Gosh Daher established the Indigenous owned company MGM Building Maintenance Pty Ltd. It was a natural progression given Anthony’s passion for mentoring Indigenous students to further develop their skills and create sustainable employment.

MGM offer over 25 years’ experience in the building and maintenance services division.

Anthony Mundine

Anthony ‘The Man’ Mundine is an Indigenous Australian professional boxer and former rugby league footballer. Described by the BBC’s Steve Bunce as “arguably the greatest cross-over athlete in boxing history.”

Born and raised in inner-city Sydney during the 1980s, a young Mundine always held close his values for fairness, ensuring that Indigenous lives are represented considering value and recognition.

Anthony has devoted his life to professional sports and Aboriginal community cultural development and issues. With over 25 years’ experience in establishing communities and support for Australian underprivileged Indigenous people. Anthony has donated his own personal funds and time to establish himself as a positive role model in a quest to achieve better rights and education for Aboriginal people from all parts of Australia.

MGM Australia, gives Anthony another avenue for conducting further support and education to young Indigenous people seeking to further their own skills & careers in the construction, hire and maintenance industry.

Gosh Daher

Gosh Daher is a close child-hood friend of Anthony’s. Gosh and Anthony have united over the vision of amalgamating Gosh’s technical and business management skills with Anthony’s invested commitment to Indigenous community development; generating Mundine Gosh Management Australia (MGM Australia), which offers specialised services for construction, hire and maintenance.

Gosh established himself through a highly successful maintenance company Everlast Building Maintenance, affording him 20+ years industry experience; honing his skills in contract management alongside controlling an on-going, high-volume of projects. Business experience has seen him working for major organisations and building companies throughout New South Wales. Gosh brings a solid wealth of technical knowledge, practical skills & local business experience to the company.

I am a Worimi man. My country, through my father’s family, is the Port Stephens area in the Newcastle Region of New South Wales. My father’s grandmother and her family lived on the Karuah Mission until she was put into service where she gave birth to my grandmother. My grandmother then lived in the Raymond Terrace area of Newcastle. My father continues to promote and educate our culture through his work with the NSW Department of Education.

Red – Represents, the red earth & the ochre used in ceremonies and Aboriginal peoples’ spiritual relation to the land.

Yellow – Represents the Sun, the giver of life & the protector.

Black – Represents the Aboriginal people of Australia.
